| OCTOBER 1992 A truck driver in the Kuril Islands, Russian Pacific, taking time in his lunch hour for a hot soak in a cold drizzle. Volcanic hot springs are found all over these islands. The ship is a Japanese coastal freighter, blown ashore during a typhoon. Its hulk will be left to rust.
